King Eiders and the Wild North – A Journey from Lapland to Varangerfjord
19 – 25 February 2027
Norway & Finland
Photograph Arctic wildlife in the far north during the beautiful winter season. This photography tour combines floating hide sessions for spectacular King Eiders and other Arctic sea ducks in Varangerfjord with atmospheric Mountain Hare photography in snowy Arctic landscapes.
During the tour we photograph from floating hides in Båtsfjord and Kiberg, offering excellent opportunities for close encounters with King Eiders, Steller’s Eiders and Long-tailed Ducks in calm winter light. The second part of the journey focuses on Mountain Hares photographed in carefully arranged artificial light during the Arctic night.
Along the route through Finnish Lapland we also photograph Siberian Jays and Siberian Tits at a private feeding site, while Northern Lights may appear above the winter landscapes during clear evenings.
