Lapland to Varangerfjord: Bird & Wildlife Photography from Taiga to Tundra
7–14 April 2026, Finland & Norway
Experience the stillness of snow and the wild pulse of Arctic life on this exclusive early spring photography tour. From the quiet forests of Finnish Lapland to the seabird cliffs of Varangerfjord, every moment is crafted for breathtaking encounters and unforgettable images.
We begin in Lapland, where soft light and snowy landscapes frame serene moments with Siberian Jays, Pine Grosbeaks, and—if luck is with us—Northern Hawk Owls or Willow Grouse along the roadsides. As we cross into Arctic Norway, the pace picks up and the diversity of subjects expands. Vardø becomes our base for four full days of immersive photography.
Crossing into Norway, we dive into the dramatic action of Varanger: four days based in Vardø packed with hide sessions, fjord-side landscapes, and boat trips to the iconic Hornøya Island, home to thousands of seabirds including Atlantic Puffins, Common Guillemots, and Kittiwakes. A thrilling RIB boat adventure and eider hide offers unforgettable photo opportunities of King Eider, Steller’s Eider, and Common Eider. And one highlights of the tour is the exclusive Mountain Hare hide, where white-coated hares can be photographed in pristine snow—sometimes joined by the elusive Arctic Fox. By night, we may even witness the magic of the Aurora Borealis dancing above the Arctic.
Every element—from hides to boats—is pre-booked and locally optimised, ensuring you are always in the right place at the right time for the shot.
